"I am too fond of reading books to care to write them."

Monthly Book Club

On the first Tuesday of each month, we gather to discuss a chosen work of literature. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—this isn't a classroom, it's a conversation among friends who share a love of reading.

Each month we select a different book, typically a classic from our English or Russian collections, though we occasionally venture into modern literary fiction. The current reading is announced on our mailing list and in the shop.

Membership

The monthly fee covers the cost of hiring our meeting space and providing tea, coffee, and light refreshments. Members are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the book.

Note: Book club members receive a 10% discount on the month's chosen title when purchased from the shop.

What to Expect

Our meetings typically last around two hours. We begin with general discussion about the book—what struck you, what puzzled you, what moved you—before diving deeper into themes, characters, and context.

You don't need to have finished the book to attend, though it helps. And you certainly don't need any academic background in literature. We're here to enjoy books together, not to write essays.
